Everything Said – Nothing Done

Everything that is being said about education today has already been said about education.

It is failing our children.

It is based on an archaic system of information exchange and relevance.

It is racist, classist, segregationist, dehumanizing, sexist, and degrading.

Our current system of education seeks to fail the majority and enslave them to a life of dependency on a system of social services that relegates them to a life of poverty that creates profits for the wealthy.

For those who are destined to succeed in our current system, they too are enslaved to a system that tells them their self-worth is tied to their social status and financial prowess.

Through our current system of education we are teaching our children that money is more important than humanity. We are teaching them that money is power, not knowledge.

Our current system of education makes what our children are unable to accomplish more important than the natural abilities they have been given to be successful in their lives.

Everything that is being said about education has already been said yet nothing has been done or is being done to change the current system of education.

We know that corporations are profiting from the failure of our children.

We know that the educational experiences of children differ according to financial class.

We know that some children are unjustly classified with learning disabilities.

We know that some children are unfairly suspended from school and even arrested in school.

We know about all of the problems in education and we even have the solution.

When we provide every child in America with a free and public education that concentrates on discovering, developing, and directing their individual gifts and talents towards becoming knowledgeable, actively engaged citizens of these United States, then we can say as a society that we truly care about our children and the education they receive.

We no longer have to talk about what can be done, we must simply change our current system of education so that it profits our children not the “hedgehogs”.
