Focus On The Children

New York State legislators voted to support Governor Guomo’s education policy and budget because they believe that there is little to no accountability for teachers in the process of education.

In May of 2013 NEA Today published an article titled, “Six Ways the Common Core is Good For Students”.

In February of 2014, NEA published another article, “NEA President: We Need a Course Correction on Common Core”.

In 2015, “the NEA’s new partnership with BetterLesson, a Cambridge-based organization dedicated to working with NEA to distribute educators’ teaching expertise across the country to aid in the effective implementation of the Common Core.”

American Federation of Teachers President Randi Weingarten, who was paid $543,150 in salary and bonuses last year, openly supports the common core curriculum.

Testing and teacher evaluation have become the primary focus of education reform and it is easy for “hedgehog” propaganda to distort and reform those issues in order to turn the opinions of the general public against teachers and testing instead of the entire system of education.

The current system of education, concentrates on classifying our children with disabilities instead of discovering their gifts and talents, creating the opportunity to profit from the educational failure of our children.

It is the “white male” bar of achievement that forces our children to remain enslaved to a classist system of society that sees only two paths of success, college and career, in order to grow the “middle class” and maintain economic power.

It is our current system of education that denies our children the knowledge of their gifts and talents and the importance of sharing their gifts and talents with the world in order to evolve as a human race.

Policy makers, legislators, and teacher unions support a system of education that is dehumanizing while “hedgehogs” profit from mis-educating our children.

We must focus on changing our current system of education so that it focuses on discovering, developing, and directing the gifts and talents that all of our children possess.

We must focus on providing every child in America with a free and public, excellent education.
