“In America, education is still the great equalizer” United States Secretary of Education Arne Duncan
How can education be the great equalizer when it is controlled by those who seek great power? It is impossible to have both in a single society.
We must begin to recognize that those who control the system of education in America have a different agenda for the children of poverty than they do for their own. While their children receive the best education in the best schools with smaller class sizes, experiential learning, and a rigorous curriculum, poor urban students are packed in classes, confined by the lack of discipline, and forced to learn test taking procedures that build stamina instead of intelligence.
The greatest nation on Earth, continues to wrestle with poverty. A nation that provides free food, clothing, housing, health and mental health services, and education to its neediest population, has been able to maintain an impoverished population in spite of the goals of these programs to reduce poverty.
This is the planned obsolescence of an entire demographic of society that the “powerful” have deemed expendable. They do not vote therefore, they do not count. However, they do increase profits by adding to the numbers of social programs that have overtaken the idea of freedom and justice for all.
It is time Americans wake up to the fact that those in positions of power rely on the poor to maintain their power. It is time we, the citizens of the United States open our eyes to the truth behind the mis-education of the “poor” children in our nation.
Education is the great equalizer and in a nation where “all men are created equal” no one is supposed to be more powerful than another. There is no wonder why we are unable to solve the problems within the system of education.
Power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely! It is for this reason our elected officials have term limits.
Before we can educate others to the truth, we must first know and understand the truth ourselves.
